The plan, or lack of

After much deliberation Thanksgiving is now being held at our house.  I'm a little apprehensive, but excited as well.  One, we don't have to travel, that's a plus.  And two, I get to host a party.  I like hosting parties.  If I were rich (read, had money and didn't work) I would have dinner parties every month.  But I'm not rich, and I don't have the time or energy to have regular parties... and I have a daughter.  So I'm excited about Thanksgiving.  Even though I'm on a tight budget, I'm wanting to try a few cheap(er) things for decorating (I'll post those later).

My main worry is not the decorating, nor the food (that's coming from other sources), it's having the time to get my house into a presentable state.  So... here's my to-do list before next Thursday morning.  I'm hoping that we can get these things done a little at a time up until Turkey day.  I'm also hoping that writing it down will help me organize my thoughts.  I suppose I'll separate it into rooms.

Kitchen-
   1.  wash and prepare all pots, pans, and serving platers
   2.  scrub sink, counters, and stove top
   3.  clean/shine refridgerator
   4.  clean oven and microwave
   5.  put away non essentials (ie make room for cooking)
6  organize fridge for optimal space

Master bed/bath
   1.  vacuum
   2.  dust
   3.  organize/put away non-essentials
   4.  scrub tub and sink areas
   5.  clean toilet and mirror

Guest Bath
   1.  clean toilet and mirror
   2.  scrub tub and sink areas
   3.  set out fresh towels

General house
   1.  sweep and mop entire house
   2.  vacuum rug and carpet areas
   3.  set out extra sheets and pillows
   4.  dust
   5.  fill empty picture frames with pictures
   6.  finish all laundry
   7.  decorate and set tables
   8.  organize garage*
   9.  pick up outside

*Unfortunately it looks like we'll be using the garage as extra space because it's suppose to rain and we don't have enough seating inside for all 15ish people that might show up.
