It's time

Here it goes.

It's time.  I've got to lose the baby weight.  I've got a month and half until the first day of school and I HAVE to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes.  Not because of vanity (although I can't say partly) but because I can't *afford* to buy "in between" clothes.  And I definitely don't want to wear my maternity clothes, mostly just the pants.

Today starts my new diet.  And my quest to lose more weight than I probably can in a month a half.  Some of you will think my goals are ridiculous (I can't blame you) others of you might think it's do-able (we'll see).  So I'll be using the blog as a way to not only track my progress, but also, hopefully, hold myself accountable.  I'm going to be putting my weight out there for the world to see.  ::cringe::

So here's the plan.  I'm going to be doing this diet until August 23.  In hopes of losing 15 pounds... in a month a half...  I know, I know.  That's like two pounds a week and no calories on my "down" days.  But to be honest there are at least 3 days a week were I almost do that anyway because I just don't get a chance to eat!  During my "up" days (and after August 23) I'll change to a typical Weight Watchers diet to lose the left over 10-15 pounds.  This is what I used 4 years ago and was successful, but that was over 3 months.  I don't have that much time.  I'm also going to be adding in this workout.  As soon as I get the OK from at my postpartum appointment, which is on Wednesday.  My ultimate goals are by August 23- 130 pounds by December 31- 115-120 pounds.  Keep in mind that I'm 5'1.  To be in the middle of my BMI for my height, I would need to weight 115 pounds.

I'll be posting weigh-ins and measurements on Mondays.  I decided to also do measurements because one, I shouldn't be *so* worried about the weight (so long as my clothes are getting loose) and two, I've heard the 30 day shred helps to tone more than lose weight.  I'll most likely include some kind of food log or general explanation of how I did with my food choices for that week.

Weigh-in #1, July 5, 2010
Weight: 145
Arm: 12" (holy smokes, my arm is a FOOT around... geez)
Waist: *gulp* 31"
Hips: *double gulp* 40 1/2"
Thigh: 23" (can I triple gulp that one?  Although I've ALWAYS had big thighs)

You go girl!! 10 pounds a month is a very doable goal. The doctors told me you should never gain or loose more than 10 pounds a month - its not healthy. Not only is you goal doable, its healthy. In my weight loss I learned the food key is eatting high mass, low calorie foods (think veggies are white rice). You can eat tons, fill full, and loose major weight.
